Cheryl and Frank had a quickie e-session at Woodlawn Cemetery right here in Canandaigua. I love shooting at Woodlawn because it is so peaceful, secluded, and has some really great visuals. If I didn’t tell you I bet you would never even know that we were even in a cemetery at allI am looking forward to photographing their wedding later this year, it sounds like it is sure to be a great time!
Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my brand new blog site! This winter has been jam packed with all of those behind the scenes type things photographers do to keep their businesses running smoothlyIn the past couple of months I have put together a new website (www.jessicamccormick.com), this new blog (which has a ton of great features and which will be replacing the blog I have had for the past 5 years, www.jessicamccormick.blogspot.com), designed a new line of awesome sample albums (love!), taught myself a few new software programs, purchased a whole bunch of amazing new gear, added a variety of really fun save the date, holiday, thank you, and misc. card templates to my line, designed some postcards, business cards, etc., finally jumped on the Pinterest bandwagon, updated insurance and credit card acceptance, booked a whole bunch of 2013 weddings, and shot some seriously hot weddings and engagement portrait sessions with some super cool couples! Hopefully many of these things will make both of our lives easier and more fun
Aside from all that jazz my 7-year-old son Phoenix and I have been enjoying all that winter has to offer here in the incredibly beautiful Finger Lakes Region of New York. Phoenix has been learning to ski at Bristol Mountain, which he is totally addicted to. In skiing he has found his happy place which makes him totally bliss out, and which we all need in our lives. We have also been keeping busy doing a ton of activities for cub scouts, school, and love going to the YMCA for swim lessons and to run around the track.
We live in Crystal Beach, which is a cool little cottage community on Canandaigua Lake, and we enjoy the peaceful nature of the area. Crystal Beach feels like the country in that we only have a fire hall, tiny little general store, and a seasonal restaurant that is currently closed, but is great since we do have neighbors and do not feel isolated or too far from town if we need anything. So, for my very first blog post I am choosing not to post photos of my most recent wedding or portrait sessions, and to give you a little glimpse of my surroundings, which I have photographed with not my fancy professional cameras, but,…get ready for it…my iPhone!
So…what do you think of my iPhone photos?!? Should I become an iPhonetographer and start shooting weddings with the thing? Ha! Just kidding, but I do think it would be nice to take and post to FB just a few iPhone photos of couples during e-sessions and weddings so everybody’s friends and families could see right away. If you’d like me to do this during your portrait session or wedding just let me know, it only takes a few minutes!
